Fridge Magnet Notepads

Wednesday, August 31, 2016

I have another end of year market day treat for you today.  These pretty little notepads stick on your fridge and bring not only a splash of colour but some practicality to your external fridge door.  I will also be selling these in my "online Christmas market" later in the year.

Fiona's Notes: I bought magnets from eBay to pop onto the back of these so that they could be stuck to a fridge.  The tops aren't glued down so that the pages can be easily torn off.

Thanks so much for stopping by today,

Ferrero Rocher gift boxes

Friday, August 26, 2016

We have now well and truly passed the midway point of the year and so my thoughts have turned towards Christmas.  But I still have room for more!  My teacher friends often delight in telling me of the gifts that their students have given them at the end of the year.  I love seeing what they have recieved, especially if they are handmade crafts, so I wanted to come up with a few little gift ideas myself.

Inside this cute little ring pull box is everyone's favourties...

Yep!  Ferrero Rochers!  I had to limit myself to only buying enough for now for display purposes so that I wouldn't be tempted to eat all the stock, heehee.

I just love how the little butterfly brightens up this box and how easy it is to pull out the inner drawer with the little ribbon ring pulls.

Fiona's Notes: These boxes are super easy to make and you can use up any piece of DSP that takes your fancy.  Use Sandra's YouTube tutorial to guide you through the steps (thanks Sandra, it's excellent!)

Papers: Various DSP, Chocolate Chip, Crisp Cantaloupe, Daffodil Delight  Accessories: Crisp Cantaloupe ribbon, Daffodil Delight ribbon, pearls, tear & tape, Tombow adhesive

Made With Love

Tuesday, August 23, 2016

If you are like me you will make a ton of new baby cards and forget all about the fact that they will have first, and second birthdays before they start needing "children not baby" cards!  Here's one that fits the bill beautifully but easily doubles as a new born card as well.  It's always handy to have multi-purpose cards in your card box.

Fiona's Notes: It's hard to see in the photo but the little onesie with "made with love" on it is sat up on a double layer of dimensionals to really give it a lift and create good depth on the card.

Stamps: Made with Love  Inks: Mint Macaron, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Versamark  Papers: Mint Macaron, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Whisper White thick  Accessories: Candy dots, stampin dimensionals

Christmas Up-Do

Saturday, August 20, 2016

A few weeks ago I made a card for the Crazy Crafter's blog hop with Tami White.  I thought it would make a cute Christmas card as well so here's an "up-do" of it for you.

Fiona's Notes: At that time I only had last year's Christmas DSP to work with but this card can easily be made using any DSP that takes your fancy.

Stamps: Endless Wishes, Thoughtful Banners  Inks: Versamark, Sahara Sand  Papers: Real Red, Merry Moments  Accessories: White Embossing powder, Whisper White Bakers Twine, Stampin Dimensionals, Sponge Dauber

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Dawn Olchefske

Wednesday, August 17, 2016

Yes, another blog hop!  Just to keep you on your tows.  I love doing them because I enjoy the challenge they provide and also seeing what all my team mates choose to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) from the international designer.  So far, no one has chosen the same card as me to CASE so I wonder how long that will last.

Today's hop is with the lovely Dawn Olchefske.  Here's the card of hers that I am CASEing:

And here is what I came up with:

CASE Notes: I drew inspiration from Dawn's layout and the three circles of similar subjects in colour.  I added a different base card colour to pick up on my Cherry Cobbler sentiment.  I think if I had my time over though I would have done some light background stamping.  You can see the scored strip on my card more easily in the photo below.

Stamps: Merry Mice  Inks: Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler plus various colours for colouring in  Papers: Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White  Accessories: Aqua painter, circle punch, score board, linen threat, dimensionals

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Jennifer Michalski

Sunday, August 14, 2016

Today the Crazy Crafters are blog hopping with Jennifer Michalski.  We are each CASEing (Copy and Selectively Edit) one of her cards.  Here's the one I've chosen:

And here's my CASE of Jennifer's card in two colours, Pool Party and Watermelon Wonder:

CASE Notes: I have based my card on Jennifer's layout and the use of cute animals.  I wanted to make a card that would suit toddler children on their birthdays.  So often there are baby cards and primary school aged cards and the 1-3 year olds get a bit missed out (at least, they do in my card making!) and that's exactly who I wanted to target with this card.

Fiona's Notes: I used glue dots to adhere the little animals rather than Tombow glue or dimensionals because I didn't want them to sit flat on the card.  I think it gives it an element of life (if that's possible for a stamped image!)

Stamps: Made With Love, Confetti Celebration Inks: Watermelon Wonder, Pool Party, Tip Top Taupe Papers: Very Vanilla, Watermelon Wonder, Pool Party, Sweet Lil Thing DSP Accessories: Word Window Punch, Glue Dots

2016 Christmas Catalogue

Friday, August 12, 2016

I love love love love this year's Christmas Catalogue!  Technically it's called the "Holiday Catalogue" but as Australians don't celebrate Halloween or Thanksgiving to the extent of sending people cards I just skip those pages and concentrate on the Christmas goodies.  It's worthy to note though that there is a super stamp sets in this catalogue that is aimed at Australians and NZers in our summer months as well as a very pretty Paisley pattern set.

Would you like me to send you a free Christmas catalogue?  If you live in Australia then click here to sign up and I will happily post one out to you.

Then grab a cuppa and your favourite packet of biscuits, and settle in to a comfy chair while you get inspired by all the great project ideas in the catalogue and start writing your wish list.  Orders can be placed through my store anytime after 1 September.

Why wait until September though, you can go shopping here now for all of Stampin' Up!'s annual range.

Happy planning and shopping,

More RAK love from you to me

Thursday, August 11, 2016

Wow I have been so spoilt with more lovely cards from around the globe from those of you who have sent me replies to my RAK cards in June.  I wanted to share them with everyone because they are all so different and gorgeous!

The shaker card on the left is from Lizzie in Belgium.  It's her first time making one and my first time receiving one (I haven't made one either.)  And the fun card on the right is from Jacki in Western Australia.  I just love the owl, I wonder if he makes me wiser?

After I took the above photos another stunning card came in the mail.  This one was all the way from the USA.  Big thank you to you Mary for sending warming thoughts as I shiver through winter here in Melbourne.

Thank you again!  Big crafty hugs to you three,

Playful circles

Tuesday, August 09, 2016

I'm having lots of fun creating cards with the Playful Backgrounds stamp set.  Here's another which I've made twice in reverse colours so that you can chose which alternative suits your recipient.

Fiona's notes:
  • Stamp off the full circles background stamp at least once (I did it twice) before stamping onto the card.  You don't want the filled in circles to compete with the outline circles.
  • The smaller circles are from the Owl Builder punch

Stamps: Playful Background, Sunburst Sayings Inks: Sweet Sugarplum, Dapper Denim Paper: Whisper White thick, Sweet Sugarplum, Dapper Denim  Accessories: 1 1/4" punch,  1 3/8" punch, Owl Builder Punch, Stampin Dimensionals

  • To bundle or not to bundle.  The stamp set and the associated framelits are available for purchase individually, however, if you want to save some money, there's a 10% discount when they are bought as a bundle.  Make sure you click on the bundle link in the shop and don't just add the two items separately into your basket.

Circles of Celebration

Wednesday, August 03, 2016

Three male friends of mine recently had cause for celebration and I wanted to create a classy card for the three of them fit for the occasion. I always think you can't go wrong with a black and white theme when aiming for formal and classy.  Plus, the circles on here rather remind me of the bubbles of champagne.

Fiona's Notes: Everything on here is heat embossed.  Don't forget to use your Embossing Buddy!  It will cut down the static cling on the card so that the embossing powder will stick to the stamped ink and not to random other parts of your card where you don't want specks of black or white showing up.

Stamps: Playful Backgrounds, Suite Sayings  Inks: Versamark  Papers: Basic Black, Whisper White thick  Accessories: Black and White Embossing Powder, Stampin Dimensionals
