Second post of the day just to apologize that you weren't able to access the YouTube clip in my last post.  My scheduling seems to need some fine-tuning!  It's live now so you can pop over and check it out.  Here's the link again for you.  Enjoy!

Colouring on Crumb Cake Tutorial

Wednesday, March 29, 2017

This is a card which uses a technique which I have wanted to share for a while.  How to colour softly onto Crumb Cake or Kraft cardstock.  It produces a really lovely effect and I know you're going to want to try it out yourself.

It's very easy, you can make the card at the same time as following along in the tutorial if you like.  Just get all your tools ready first using the list below.  You will also need to have cut your layers as follows:

Base: standard C6 card in thick Whisper White
1st layer: Pink Pirouette 9.5 x 13.9cm
2nd layer: Whisper White 9 x 13.4cm
3rd layer: Crumb Cake 8.7 x 13.1cm

(If you're looking at this via email you will need to open the blog page to see the video below)

I often have disputes with myself about which product is my favourite from Stampin' Up!  At the moment it's definitely my Stampin' Write Markers because on top of all their colouring abilities, I can also use them to make borders like I've done here on this card around the little tag.

Adding the border makes the tag pop off the page and fits well with the black outline on the flower.  Try this technique around a small cut out like I have here or to make a border around the whole card.  Don't stop at Basic Black either, try different colour markers for a whole new look to your project.

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Rachel Tessman

Sunday, March 19, 2017

I love how easy my team's blog hops are.  CASEing (Copy and Selectively Edit) the project of another demonstrator is so much fun and I love putting my own creative spin onto the foundations already set in their beautiful projects.  Today we are CASEing Racel Tessman.  Here's the set of cards I've chosen to work from:

And here's my card:

The circles start off flush with the card and then increase by one stampin dimensional's height each time.  The top circle, therefore, has three dimensionals dotted around with another three on top of them to lift it up over the others.  You can see that a bit better in this side angle:

Such a pretty and bright card.  I just love it's freshness!

Colouring In Birthdays

Friday, March 17, 2017

Every year I'm always so sad when Sale-A-Bration ends and the freebies stop coming in.  One of the things I'll miss most is the Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper.  It's so enjoyable just being able to sit and colour in for a while before sticking and cutting and stamping.

Thank goodness the watercolour pencils aren't going anywhere!  I can still get my colouring-in fix, it will just have to be with stamps instead of this gorgeous paper.

But there's still time for you to get some before Sale-A-Bration ends!  Place an order of $90 or over and select this as your freebie item.  You have until the 31st March or until stocks run out.  I know how popular it has been so I wouldn't be waiting too long to place that order in case of disappointment.

Here's everything you need to make this card yourself.
