Thank you

Mini Butterfly Thank Yous

Sunday, January 25, 2015

I love having mini thank you cards to hand.  They are perfect for those times when the card itself can say the thanks for you.  They are also just the thing when I want to send a note to my customers and workshop hosts.

They are super easy to make!  Here's how to do it:

The Very Vanilla card measures 9cm x 9cm.  The middle layer is 8cm x 8cm.  The top layer, punched with the Elegant Butterfly punch, measures 7cm x 7cm.

The middle layer was stuck using Snail Tape.  The top layer I popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals so that it would sit up over the pretty DSP and stand out.  I used Everyday Enchantment (now retired) on the first card and Eastern Elegance on the second card.  I also stuck them onto the flap of the envelopes that I made using the Envelope Punch Board.

The sentiment is from the Good Greetings Hostess set and is stamped in Strawberry Slush and Indigo Island inks. To finish off I coloured rhinestones with the coordinating Stampin Write Markers.

Did you know you can colour our rhinestones any SU colour you like with the marker pens?  So cool!!

Don't forget that all through my post I have linked the products to my shop so that you can see them in an instant and buy them to make your own little cards.

I never mind if people copy (or "CASE") my cards, just leave a little note of acknowledgement in your online post.  Like I am now for the talented Jill from whom I got the inspiration for this card.  Massive thanks, Jill!

Thanks for stopping by!

Get well

Get Well Feathers

Saturday, January 17, 2015

I'm sorry I've been AWOL since Christmas.  I suffered a neck injury in December and the recovery has been slow.  I'm still on drugs and receiving treatment for it but I've been trying to tick away with my card making because it brings me so much pleasure.

Fittingly I've a get well  card for you today.  How much of a smile would you have upon receiving one of these in the mail if you were unwell?

The popped up panel is 1cm smaller than the actual card.  Onto this I stuck a strip of DSP from the Color Me Autumn pack (it's in the Clearance Rack now - hurry and pick it up at 30% off before it sells out and disappears!) which was mounted onto a 75mm larger strip of Mossy Meadow cardstock.

Above this I stamped my sentiment from the Thoughts and Prayers stamp set (I only inked up part of the stamp so that I only got "GET WELL") in Crushed Curry ink.

The feathers are stamped in Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry and die cut with the Feathers Framelits gathered together with a gold button and some linen thread.  (NB You can buy the feathers stamp and die in a bundle and save 15%!  Here it is in my shop.)

The earthy colours of this card speak to my Aussie heart.  Super big thanks to Sue Itell for the original design from which mine was CASEd.
