Love you

A friend asked me to make a card for his first wedding anniversary next month.  How special is that?  So I hope he loves clean and simple card with a bit of sparkle.

The three layers of cardstock are raised with Stampin Dimensionals and the mini rhinestones bring a touch of classy bling to the card.  FUN love!  I inked up my Itty Bitty Banners "Love You" stamp with my Cherry Cobler marker pen so that I was only getting the words and not the border.  I LOVE the versatility that Stampin Up markers give you for inking your stamps (if you want to know more about this drop me a line and I will go into details.)

White layers

Sunday, August 24, 2014

My latest cards can be altered to suit so many occasions.  I have even done a Christmas version of this design (you will have to wait to see that one!).  I mix and match the colours to suit what candy dots I have available.  I just love the pops of colour against the elegant white layers.  Raise them by using Stampin Dimensionals.  EASY!

The flowers are made by punching out the image on coloured cardstock (matching the ink and candy dots) and layering directly on top with a glue dot another punched out flower in white.  Slightly raise the petals on the white to reveal the colour just a peek and pop a rhinestone on top.  Voila!

Rather than trying to ink up my sentiment stamps with inkpads I just coloured the words in using my Stampin' Up! markers.  So much easier than stuffing around with the pads for such tiny amounts.  Works a treat.

Big thanks to Pootles Papercraft for this design.

A Little Birdy Told Me...

Sunday, August 17, 2014

The hardest designs to come up with are ones for guys.  Right?!  It's the birthday of a good male friend of mine in a week's time and I reckon I might just get away with this one, what do you think?

A great idea from Creations with Christina, it uses the super cute For the Birds stamp set and the On Film Framelits.

I die cut the frame in Basic Grey and then again in Whisper White.  Taking the middle "off cut" of Whisper White I then slot it into the Basic Grey frame (after all my stamping and colouring) and stuck it together on the back with tape.  I popped it after tying some Whisper White twine around it.  It's hard to see in the photo but there is a hint of blue on the white cardstock.  I used a sponge dauber with some Soft Sky ink to LIGHTLY rub on a bit of colour.  Don't go overboard, you just want a HINT of colour.  The birds are stamped from the For The Birds set and coloured in with my Stampin' Makers.

Etsy Shop - how to buy my cards

Wednesday, August 13, 2014

I have been tinkering away this week on creating a shop on Etsy to sell my cards to the big wide world.  So exciting!  Take a look at it here:  I have also created a tab on the front of my blog so that you don't have to scroll through all the posts to find this one if you've lost the link.

Go and have a look!  If there are any cards that you have seen on my blog that don't appear on the shop and you'd like some, drop me a line and if I can then I'll make you up some.

Thank you

With Gratitude

I run a number of events which require thank you cards for guest speakers.  I wanted a card that was stylish but that I could produce in bulk and came up with this one.  I just love the white ink on the kraft card stock.
