Just Add Ink #611 | Sketch

It's time to get Christmasy! I know, we're a long way out, but I do like to start in July and slowly start to build up my stock of Christmas cards.  That way when I come to write them all in November I am all organised and can focus on other Christmas crafts.

I hope you will play along with us for this week's Just Add Ink challenge.  We love seeing your creations!  Click the link above to see the rest of the design team's inspiration and to find the link to enter your own.  You don't have to have a blog to enter, you can link to your Facebook or Instagram accounts as well.

I didn't want the mice to be the centre of attention for this card.  That's the banner piece off to the left (in line with the sketch brief).  So I stamped them in Versamark Ink.  Yes, usually you'd use that ink with embossing powder because it's clear and tacky, but look! You can create a soft tone on tone effect by stamping and letting it dry without adding anything to it.

To create the snow effect I covered up the stamped image with some scrap paper and then splattered some Basic White ink with my Water Painter.

You can see a snapshot video of how I made this card over on my Instagram page (plus you'll see how I decorated the interior!)

Happy crafting,
