Just Add Ink Summer Blog Hop

How lovely to be celebrating summer with the Just Add Ink Team.  I am so grateful for all their crafty friendship and encouragement - they really are a fabulous group of crafters.  And talented too!  So please enjoy hopping with us through our annual blog hop as we bring you our individual take on summer.

I moved mid-last year from an apartment into a house so I have been busy tending to the garden in my spare time.  I have loved watching all the flowers bloom this summer bringing colour and life to my little patch.

So for this reason I was inspired to bring you bright yellow flowers for my summery card.

The gorgeous flowers are from the Pierced Blooms dies.  Don't they make the most beautiful bright flowers? I love all that pierced detail on them.  They are so pretty that you can easily use the dies without their coordinating stamp set In Bloom.

To create the top layer I used the Basic Borders dies.  It's a value packed die set with six borders to choose from.  I chose a clean crisp edge that didn't detract from the flowers which I wanted to layer on top.

To enhance the dimension under that top layer I shaded the Daffodil Delight cardstock with some Mango Medley ink (I find the Blending Brushes work best for this).  When I was happy with the amount of shading I stamped my sentiment from the Sunny Sentiments stamp set.

The rest of the Just Add Ink team have some knock out designs waiting to help you incorporate summer into your cards.  Please hop on over to the amazingly talented Rachael Lewsley's blog now and see what she's got in store for you before checking out everyone else's projects.

Please join us for our challenges this year.  We love love love seeing all that you create and it's a fabulous way for your designs to get seen by lots of people and a really good way to kick your creativity up a notch.  We run a weekly challenge starting on Fridays so head on over to the blog each week to see what's in store.

And hey!  Did you know we are also on Facebook and Insta?  Come follow us!

  7. Such a pretty floral spray Fiona! Love the crisp line of the border die too. Enjoy your new garden, I too have recently gained a bigger garden and it’s so relaxing to be able to potter amongst the flowers - it’s like designing a big card! Enjoy! xx
