Partial Heat Embossing Technique

You know how much I love heat embossing, right?  Well today I am being rather restrained and I'm only partially embossing the background stamped image. Ooohhh sneaky me!

And to show off this technique I've chosen my new besties, the three little guys from the Joyful Life stamp set.  Oh my goodness, HOW CUTE ARE THEY?

Click here to see them in store and to buy them.  At only $35 I bet you won't even hesitate!

Onto the technique.  I'm sorry that I don't have a video for you this week (I did start one but got interrupted then I went away for a week), but it's super simple to follow.

Stamp your background stamp in Versamark and then instead of pouring embossing powder all over the inked up area, just add it to a portion.  And then heat it all over so that the powder heats up and the remaining Versamark dries. Eaaaaasy!

Leaving the rest of the image which isn't embossed almost gives the impression that the character is lighting up the way as he moves into shot.  Neat, huh?

For the first card above I stamped the Festive Foliage stamp set as my background image and below I used the Daisy Garden stamp set.

Now the third image isn't partial, nor is it a background stamp.  But I couldn't leave the little piggie out of all the fun, could I?  So I stamped up some snow and embossed it all because when I did just a partial cover it didn't quite look right.

What background stamp will you use for this technique?
