Watercolour Daisy Garden

I'm not much of a watercolour-er but I thought I'd give it another go and get some practice in.

I used the Daisy Garden stamp for this card.  It's one large stamp which is nice and easy to use.  Just stamp it down and colour away.

I wanted to enter the card in this week's Just Add Ink Sketch challenge and so I left the bottom section blank to create a break between the top and bottom portions of the image, just like in the sketch.  If you look closely, you'll see that I stamped and white heat embossed the whole stamp.  To get that crisp line where the colour stops I just lay down a strip of craft masking tape.  It works so well for this kind of thing.

Here's a closer look.  I used Mango Medley, Daffodil Delight, Misty Moonlight, Crumb Cake, and Pool Party inks.  My cardstock is watercolour paper layered upon Misty Moonlight and Daffodil Delight.

To finish off my sentiment is from the Blossoms in Bloom stamp set set off with some white bakers twine.

What do you think of the masking effect and half colour half white?

Crafty hugs,

  1. Beautiful, Fiona. I love that you stamped the complete image, but only coloured the top two thirds - perfect for this sketch. Thanks so much for sharing with us at Just Add Ink so regularly. x
