It's never too early to be ready for Christmas when it comes to card making.  I usually get started in July each year and slowly build up to having enough in my stash to start writing them in November and posting them in December (I send a LOT so it's good to get onto them in good time).

Many thanks to the Just Add Ink team for their Christmas themed challenge this week.  It's prompted me to get out my Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce and make up a batch of cards.   What I want you to tell me is, which colour background do you prefer?

These are really easy to make up as a batch of cards and perfect if you were going to sell them to friends and coworkers.  What I like best about this design is that there are no embellishments (unusual for me not to have some rhinestones, I know!).  This is really handy when sending out lots of cards because the envelopes won't tear in the post.

All the stamping is done using the Poinsettia Petals stamp set.  As you can see it comes with some pretty holly stamps.  It's hard to see in the photos but the berries are darker red because I clear heat embossed them.  This makes them pop on the page, adds some dimension with colour, and picks up the shine of the gold embossed sentiment.
