Stitched Strips 4 Ways

The beauty of my cards today is that you effectively get 3 cards for the work of 1. Gotta love a good time saving method when crafting, right?

I upped my challenge level this week so that my cards can be entered in both the Just Add Ink weekly challenge...

...as well as the Global Design Project's challenge....

This really is a week for getting more out of your craft time!

To meet the challenge brief for Just Add Ink I used the Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut out six rectangles, one in Fresh Freesia, one in Blackberry Bliss, One in Pear Pizazz (the three colours of the Global Design Project challenge) and three in Basic White.

Next I cut the three coloured rectangles together into five strips of different widths.  The reason I cut them together isn't just time saving, it also meant that the pieces would fit each other no matter which colour I lay them next to.  This allowed me to mix and match and get those three base cards for the work of one.

To assemble the colours together I set them all out by width then picked a variety of colours from the piles and adhered them onto the Basic White rectangles.  That way it was easy to stick them together as though they were one rectangular piece.

I changed up the theme of each card but you can just make three of the same. For the first and second cards I used the In Symmetry stamp set. The third I heat embossed the cross from the His Love stamp set in silver (oops seems this retired and I didn't notice!)

I also wanted to change things up a bit and make a bright and colourful congratulations card which you can see below.

I love how it looks but it's less easy to piece the strips together because you have to cut the rectangles in several batches.

I hope you love this technique.  Let me know if you have any questions on how to make them, I'd be only to happy to help you further.
