A number of crafters have been making some beautiful creations with alcohol markers and rubbing alcohol. I tried once and got ink EVERYWHERE and I stained my fingers for days! I wanted to do it so that I could then add some gold leafing to the veins of the ink because I knew it would be a beautiful pairing but the mess was too much for me.
Then I remembered that the Sea & Sand Suite has some gorgeous Designer Series Paper with watercolours in it which would work perfectly and be much cleaner (not to mention quicker and cheaper). And so much card below was created!
It really took no time at all to make and it was so much fun to apply the gold leafing and then rub off the excess to reveal the finished product. Take a look at the video below on how to make it. Photos don't do justice to the beautiful effect of the gold leafing so you'll have to trust me when I saw it looks amazing! And it's lots of fun to do. Plus you can go on to do more elaborate gold leafing designers later now that you've got the basics down pat.

And if you want a similar effect without all the gold leaf fuss you could get some of the stunning Expressions in Ink DSP - but of course, you miss out on the fun of the creation.
