With so many gorgeous floral themes available at the moment, I just had to join in this week's Global Design Project for their floral themed challenge.
I can't get enough of the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set at the moment. It's so bright and happy and perfect for a friendship card and as a single layer card with no embellishments it's perfect for popping through the post without worrying about the envelope tearing.
I stamped up the images and sentiment (from the So Sentimental stamp set) in Memento Black and then coloured them in using a mix of Blends (So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Mango Medley, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, and Old Olive).
Then after I had layered it onto an Old Olive base card I felt the card needed a little something extra. Determined not to bling this up so that the sunflowers wouldn't be outshone, I picked up my Basic Black dark Blend and added some dots around the flowers.
Switching over from Blends to Markers meant I could ink up one of the sunflower stamps directly and brighten up my envelope as well. Love how it looks and I hope it brings a little sunflower sunshine to our postal workers as they deliver it.
