A Dad Card

Cards for the men in our lives can be difficult to design.  Sometimes we find inspiration not in the overtly masculine stamp sets that are produced, but hidden within unsuspecting stamp sets.  I created this card today from the Crafting Forever stamp set - who'd have thought you'd get a masculine card out of that?!

I masked off the stamp with three pens on it leaving just the centre pen to be inked up.  The trail of "writing" that you see was just me and a Black Stampin' Write maker going freehand.

Layers are always a winner with masculine cards.  It's something about the clean lines and bold colours I think.  I've selected Tranquil Tide and Smoky Slate as my layers and jazzed things up with pops of Daffodil delight.  Try using the a stitched framelit for the extra effect to at least one layer.

My sentiment comes from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set.  I white heat embossed it on Basic Black cardstock and created the banner effect using my trusty paper snips.

Happy crafting,
