Today's card shows how you can create interesting backgrounds to your cards and your layers.
First up, I created the base of my sentiment piece with the Delightful Tag Topper and placed strips of three different coloured blues on top (Night of Navy, Pacific Point, and Balmy Blue).
Next I stamped and heat embossed the cake and stand in silver embossing powder using stamps from the Piece of Cake stamp set.

I finished this off with a double stranded bow in basic black, stamped the senitment from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set and then popped the whole piece up on dimensionals over the background piece.

To make the background I added Pool Party ink with my sponge brayer and then spritzed with water. I also gave it a few flicks of my Wink of Stella pen for some sparkle.
