Magnolia in Shadow

There's a little trick to getting an image to pop out a bit more on the page.  It's achieved by creating a soft shadow around the outline in the darker areas of the image.  I've done it before with pencils, but did you know you can also do it with Blends?  I filmed this project so that you can see it in action - look for the video at the end of the post.


 If you look carefully you can see the Smoky Slate shading in both of the cards.  The one above was made using Blackberry Bliss light, Flirty Flamingo light, and Petal Pink dark & light.  The card below is made using Calypso Coral light & dark, and Petal Pink light & dark.


The leaves and stem for both were Granny Apple Green light & dark, and Crumb Cake light & dark.
