Ink It! Stamp It! Blog Hop: Inspired by my home decor

One of my favourite things about my flat is that my office has a window on either side of one of the corners of the room so that it floods that room with natural light.  I have positioned my desk underneath these windows and it makes the perfect place to peacefully sit working when I'm studying or working at home.  The slats of the blinds allow me to angle the sun so that when it shines straight in it doesn't disturb my work.  Perfect set up!

When I saw this month's theme for the blog hop I knew instantly that I wanted to draw inspiration from this part of my home and along came this card.

It's a bit reversed - instead of seeing nature through the slats I have made them the slates.  I have a magnolia tree outside my bedroom window and it's the most beautiful thing in the whole garden when it blooms.

I coloured this one using Blends (Calypso Coral L&D, Old Olive L&D, Petal Pink L&D) and once the image was coloured I cut the cardstock into strips.

Whisper White thick goes best with blends and also provide stable strips.  I popped the pieces onto dimensionals and stuck them on a Crumbcake cardbase.

Happy crafting,
Fiona x

  1. Oh, How creative! It's always fun to see where crafters get their inspiration. Who would have ever thought of the blinds? You, obviously, and it is gorgeous! Way to think outside of the box!
