Tea From Me to You

Thursday, June 28, 2018

When the new catalogue was released I was very happy to see another tea themed suite because I know how much you love them.  I do too!  A nice cup of tea always makes things better, right?  I went for a touch of a vintage with my card today, a little nod to the timelessness of tea drinking!

This suite comes with dies, Designer Series Paper, ribbons, stickers, copper tins, and Memories and More inserts.  WOWSERS!!  I've only used the stamps today but wait till I get going with the rest of it.  Check the link at the bottom of my post to see all the products and to order your own.

To give your projects a quick vintage feel, use a sponge dauber to lightly apply some Crumb Cake or Sahara Sand ink to the edges of your piece of cardstock.  Easy!

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Mary Deatherage

Sunday, June 24, 2018

What a fab week, getting to hop with Mary Deatherage AND playing with new catalogue products.  Love, love!  When the Crazy Crafters have a blog hop we invite international and much admired demonstrators and then CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) a project of theirs.  For today's hop I've picked this card of Mary's.

I love layout so, in usual me style, I went CAS (Clean and Simple) and came up with this:

It's a little hard to see in the photo, but I clear embossed the dandelions to make them shine and stand out on the card just a little bit.

For contrast I stamped the sentiment in black.  The strip of Pool Party was put on with a sponge brayer. I stuck down two pieces of scrap card over the top of my card to create the border lines when sponging.

You'll love what everyone else has done in their CASEing of Mary so hop over to their blogs now.

Ink It! Stamp It! Design Team Blog Hop - New Catalogue

Friday, June 22, 2018

I'm back from holidays and soooo excited to be crafting with the new catalogue products.  Today my card is part of the Ink It! Stamp It! Design Team Blog Hop showcasing lots and LOTS of beautiful new items from the newly released annual catalogue.

How pretty is the "thank you" calligraphy writing on this card?  As soon as I saw the Calligraphy Essentials stamp set in the new catalogue I knew I just had to have it!  Now!  But wait, there's more!  (Heehee.)  It's also paired with a kit, but I'll wait to show you that and let you enjoy the blog hop today.

On top of the background text I added a disc of vellum and a flower from the Perennial Birthday stamp set which I coloured in with markers.  Using markers to colour gives a softer stamped effect which is why the Power Pink of the flower looks lighter and more dainty than in the text of the Thank You where I used the marker straight onto the page.   Then a touch of bling with some Gold Metallic Thread.

Have a look now at everyone else's exciting creations (and a big welcome to our new international designers!  Jumping up and down in happiness to have you here!)
