Card Challenge

Christmas bow

Saturday, September 26, 2015

I am in full Christmas craft mode at the moment and so in love with this card that I just couldn't resist sharing it with you!  I really love kraft with white and the Cherry Cobbler has always been my favourite Christmas colour, so this is the perfect combo for me.

Fiona's notes: This week over at the Just Add Ink blog challenge their theme is "Add you three favourite colours."  Now, there are some of you who will argue that white isn't a colour, but as I'm using it not as a base card but as a highlight itself I think it definitely counts and so this card is just perfect for the challenge.  I totally love how the white trim of the ribbon matches the white border around the top layer.

Stamps: Endless Wishes, Signature Christmas (PTI)  Inks:  Memento Black, Fresh Snow (PTI)  Papers:  Whisper White, Kraft (PTI)  Accessories: Cherry Cobbler Grosgrain Ribbon

Santa box

Monday, September 21, 2015

I know, I know, it's only September you say, why are you pumping out Christmas stuff already?  Well, there are people out there who are as organised as I am and who make as many cards and gifts as I do which means, September's the time to get started!

Fiona's notes: These make cute little gifts at Christmas time.  Why not tie some fishing wire to them and hang a few on the tree, or write names on the tags and use them as place settings.

Stamps: Good Greetings (Hostess set)  Inks: Memento Black  Papers:  Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper white, Silver Foil  Accessories: Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon

Christmas circles

Sunday, September 20, 2015

It's been a while since I last participated in a Crazy Crafters blog hop so I'm excited about this one.  You might recall my post "Circles of Thanks" from about 6 weeks ago. Click here to see it.  I entered it into the Stamp Ink Paper challenge and was thrilled when it was chosen as one of the winners.  So here I am again with that winning formula only this time I've chosen a Christmas theme and I'm highlighting some of the beautiful Merry Moments papers.

Fiona's notes: I love how in this version the circles resemble baubles.  I actually think I prefer this version!  What do you think?  Let me know in a comment below.

Mad Hatter Bookmark

Friday, September 11, 2015

These Mad Hatter Hat bookmarks are for a special little girl's Alice in Wonderland 10th birthday party.  A customer order that I had so much fun producing.  The paperclips are 75mm so they make a decent sized bookmark.

Fiona's notes:
  • I based my design on pictures of the Mad Hatter's hat found on the internet.
  • I drew by hand the top part of the hat and cut that out.
  • The base of the hat is an oval punch into which I cut a slit.
  • The edges have all be slightly inked with my sponge daubers just to add a bit of dimension to the hat.
  • The 10/6 was printed, cut out, and slipped into the band of the hat.

Inks: Gumball Green, Crushed Curry  PapersGumball Green, Crushed Curry  Accessories: Large Oval punch, paper snips, sponge daubers, multipurpose glue, tear and tape adhesive, 75mm paperclip

Thanks so much for popping by today,

Welcome baby on hardwood

Monday, September 07, 2015

These have to be my most popular baby card to date.  One of my friends who saw them while I was making them liked them so much she insisted I keep one of each for when she has a baby so that I could send it to her then (and that could be any time in the next 10 years!)

Fiona's Notes:  Time to get out your inner snipper!  These animals are both fussy cut.

Stamps: Zoo Babies, A Word For You, Hardwood Background  Inks: Blushing Bride, Soft Sky, Sahara Sand, Early Expresso  Papers: Very Vanilla, Blushing Bride, Soft Sky  Accessories: Dimensionals, Paper Snips

Globes to Brighten My Day

Wednesday, September 02, 2015

Everyone has someone who brightens their day.  This card is for a special friend whose smiles are so bright they can't help but brighten up every one of my days!  Who's your bright someone?

Fiona's notes:
  • Borders really give a little something else to a card.  They don't have to be stamped or drawn on lines.  Try paper piercing for your next border as a subtle way to give emphasis.
  • I picked up a Versamark pen from my local newsagents and it's just fantastic for covering larger areas with Versmark to clear emboss.  That's what I've done to each of the globes here to give them a bit of sparkle in the light.

Stamps: You Brighten My Day  Papers: Kraft, Basic Black  Inks: Memento Black, Versmark Accessories: Stampin Write Markers (various), piercing tool, piercing mat, stampin dimensionals, paper snips, clear embossing powder, heat gun
