Delicate Wedding Card

Thursday, May 21, 2015

The Thoughts and Prayers set is my go to for thinking of you and sympathy cards.  But today I want to show you how it can also be used to make a delicate and very pretty wedding card.

Fiona's notes: This is one card that will definitely have to be hand delivered so that the flowers don't get crushed. They do sit up quite a bit, that's their attraction.

Stamps: Thoughts and Prayers, Itty Bitty Banners Inks: Craft White, Smoky Slate Papers: Smoky Slate, Whisper White, Blushing Bride Accessories: Basic pearls, Itty Bitty punch pack, Tombow glue

Inspiration from Aileen - thanks so much!

A "Do-Over" of Pansies

Friday, May 15, 2015

Some of you may recall my Basket of Birthday Wishes card which I posted in September last year. Today's card is a 'do-over' of that card.  Can you see how the whole feel is altered with a change of colours and sentiment?

Fiona's notes:  Although it's not that clear in the photo, two of the flowers are stamped in Basic Grey and the other two in Smoky Slate for some contrast.

Stamps: Flower Shop Inks: Basic Grey, Smoky Slate Papers: Whisper White, Smoky Slate Accessories: rhinestones

Happy New Home

Friday, May 08, 2015

When a person moves into a new house often they find the letter box filled with mail for the previous occupants for their first few weeks there.  I like to make sure that my friends have something bright and colourful to open, and something that isn't a bill!

Fiona's notes: To achieve the multicoloured tree and flower I used by Stampin' Write Markers to colour directly onto the stamp.  It's a very useful technique and gives you great flexibility with your stamps.

Stamps: You Brighten My Day (SAB), Thoughts and Prayers  Inks: Momento Black Papers: 2012-2014 Designer Series Background Paper Pack  Accessories: Natural twine, rhinestones, Stampin Write Markers (Baked Brown Sugar, Gumball Green, Raspberry Ripple), clear embossing powder

I'd love to acknowledge the source of the design inspiration today but I saw it a long time ago and can't for the life of me find it now.  So - big thanks to whoever you are!

Happy Friday!

Praying for you pearls

Monday, May 04, 2015

A friend of mine's mother died a few weeks ago and I thought pearls were the order of the day for a card for her.  Pearls always remind me of motherly figures.

Fiona's notes: Use your Stamp-a-ma-jig to get the placement of the flower branches just where you want them on the card.  This is one of the best stamping tools out there, I wouldn't be without mine!

Stamp Sets: Thoughts and Prayers Papers: Marina Mist, Whisper White Inks: Marina Mist Accessories: Basic Pearls, Snail Adhesive

Thanks to: an unknown crafter out there who first designed this card and to the person who first pinned it on Pintrest where I saw and CASED it.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Mother's Day

Friday, May 01, 2015

One of my lovely neighbours gets all her cards from me and occasionally asks me for cards for an occasion that I don't have in stock.  So it was my very great pleasure to make her a Mother's Day card to give to her sweet mum.

Fiona's notes: There are times when we just don't have the right stamp for an occasion and for me, Mother's Day is one of those.  Not to worry, I just created the sentiment in a word processing document.  You can even match the colour of the text to the cardstock by looking up the RGB or HEX code.  (Google the colour you want + Stampin' Up! + RGB and you are bound to find what you need in an instant.)

Stamps: Petit Petals Inks: Crisp Cantaloupe Paper: Smoky Slate Cardstock, Whisper White Cardstock, 2013-2015 Designer Series Background Paper  Accessories: Petit Petals Punch, Pearls, Basic Grey Grosgrain ribbon (retired)

Huge thanks to the anonymous card maker on Pinterest whose card I CASED.
Hope you love today's card as much as I do!
