So Happy For You

When a friend of mine shares good news like getting engaged or being pregnant I love sending a card in celebration.  But the standard "congratulations" never really feels the right thing to say, so I created a more heartfelt "So so happy for you" card.

Dead easy card to make, the most fiddly thing was the sentiment.  Here are the steps:

  1. Cut a square card 13x13cm from Whisper White Cardstock
  2. Cut the top layer card at 12.5x12.5cm
  3. Using the 5.9cm circle die from the Circles Collection Framelits and your Big Shot, cut a circle in the middle of your top layer.
  4. On the reverse of your top layer, score each side at .5cm to create a raised border on the front
  5. Stamp your sentiment in Smoky Slate.  Now you can use whatever sentiment you like.  I pieced mine together from three different stamp sets which was a real pain.  (I used the 'happy'  from Papertrey Ink's Think Big Favourites #13, the 'so' from Hero Arts' Operation Write Home, and the 'for you' from Simon Says' Handwritten Sentiments.)
  6. Stick dimensionals  onto the back of the top layer.  Be generous, you don't want it sagging around the circle or any of the outside edges.
  7. Stamp the large butterfly from the Kinda Eclectic set in your choice of colour - I chose Cherry Cobbler for this one but for a pregnancy I would probably go with Pistachio Pudding.
  8. Punch out the butterfly with the Elegant Butterfly Punch and score it down the middle to achieve the raised wings.
  9. With the tiniest amount of glue, adhere the butterfly to the edge of the circle.
  10. Finish off with three tiny rhinestones.

There, how easy was that?  I'd love to see your cards if you CASE them.  Just remember to mention back to this post (card copying etiquette and all that!) and leave a comment or send me a message so that I can check it out.  That's what I'm doing for the lovely Laurie whose card inspired this one from me.  Big thanks Laurie!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
