Christmas Curvy Keepsake Boxes

Wednesday, December 24, 2014

A little bit exhausted from my mammoth effort with Christmas cards I took a break from cards and shifted to making little Christmas boxes using the oh so much fun Curvy Keepsake die.

I am filling them with chocolates and giving them as gifts to my friends and neighbours.  They are so addictive to make.  People had warned me that this would be the case but I didn't quite understand the addictiveness until I started making them for myself!

I've picked out just two to show you here.

For this one I die cut Night of Navy, stamped the smallest snowflake from the Endless Wishes set onto the longer sides using Versamark.  On the two "inner sides," as I call them, I cut and stuck on DSP from Santa & Co paper pack.

The die set comes with three different shaped tags.  Onto the same DSP I stamped a sentiment also from the Endless Wishes set in Night of Navy and Versamark ink over the top to make it glisten a little.  It's tied on with Whisper White Baker's Twine.

The second one uses the reindeer patterned paper from the same DSP pack.  I coupled it here with Hello Honey cardstock onto which I stamped some stars in Versamark.  I tied it up with some spare ribbon I had lying around the house.

For those of you who celebrate Christmas, I hope it is full of merriment and as much chocolate as these little boxes!

Triple Reindeer

Monday, December 22, 2014

The last of my Christmas cards are this series of three reindeers.   I've already told you how much I love Dasher and here he is again.  Although this stamp set is sadly retired you might be lucky enough to pick one up on eBay or a swap site.

Today I've used him in three different colours with coordinating cardstock and Designer Series Paper.

First up is Dasher in Baked Brown Sugar with matching DSP.  I stamped the sentiment from the For the Birds set in Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green.  Using my Stamp-a-ma-jig I stamped over the images in Versamark and clear embossed both the reindeer and the sentiment.  To finish off I coloured up some mini rhinestones on the antlers using my marker pens.

Cherry Cobbler and matching DSP.

Night of Navy and matching DSP.

Don't forget, all the links in my blog are straight to my shop to make it easy for you to make a list of what you need to buy for these.  If you ever have any questions, drop me a line at anytime through my Contact Me page.

Christmas Greetings Bauble

Saturday, December 20, 2014

I write about 100 cards to send to family and friends each Christmas and so I try and come up with three designs each year to mix things up a little bit.  This is design #2.

Although you might think grey isn't the best pick for Christmas I like it here to allow the Christmas colours to stand out.  I combined Garden Green and Whisper White card stocks with

I tied off the bauble with Whisper White baker's twine, popped the ornament up with stampin' dimensionals, and finished it off with a rhinestone.  The sentiment is from the Endless Wishes stamp set and the bauble is from the Contempo Christmas set. Although this last set is now retired, you could use one of the baubles from the Cheerful Christmas set which is still current and would look just as good.

With special thanks to Debby for the design inspiration.

Nordic Noel Snowflakes

Thursday, December 18, 2014

My lovely "upline" (the person I signed up to Stampin' Up! under) gave me some pretty paper packs when I promoted to a new level a few months ago.  I've used a (albeit small!) strip of some of on my next Christmas card.  So this card is dedicated to you, Kate!  Thanks for your wonderful inspiration, encouragement, support, and cheer!

I know we don't get snow in Australia at Christmas and I tend to draw the line at designs with snowmen, but I do love the gentleness of snowflakes and feel them still rather fitting for the occasion.  So here I've used the Endless Wishes stamp set inked up with Smoky Slate, Soft Sky, and Night of Navy.  I layered the Nordic Noel DSP onto a strip of Smoky Slate cardstock and finished the card with some rhinestonesSimple, elegant, Christmas fun!

Big thanks to Dara for the design idea.

Thanks so much for popping past today.  I hope all your Christmas projects are coming along nicely!

Kraft Reindeer

Tuesday, December 16, 2014

This Reindeer stamp was my introduction to Stampin' Up! so it is very dear to my heart (no pun intended!).  As soon as I saw him feature on Christmas cards when I was looking through images for inspiration I just had to have him.  Sadly he's retired now, but I think he will be a feature of my Christmas cards for a few years to come.

I used Cherry Cobbler cardstock and inkKraft cardstock onto which I stamped an Inkadoo stamp in Versamark; Very Vanilla cardstock; rhinestones coloured with my Daffodil Delight marker; and finally, some Baker's twine.

Have you heard about Stampin' Up!'s Sale-a-bration?  It's the MOST fun time of the year with LOTS of freebies.  I can send you a free catalogue if you'd like to check out all the new items that will be on offer and a special catalogue just for the freebies.  Sign up here: http://eepurl.com/-6p35.

Christmas cards in bulk

Sunday, December 14, 2014

I have been a very busy little crafter this year making 250 Christmas cards to sell to my family and friends.  I wanted designs that were easy to mass produce and decided on these two.

Both sets use the Endless Wishes stamp set, isn't it just gorgeous?

For this first design I've stamped in Stawberry Slush, Soft Sky, and Lost Lagoon.

This second design was stamped with Lost Lagoon again, as well as Night of Navy, and Smoky Slate.

The rhinestones give the obligatory Christmas "bling" and the coordinating envelopes give a touch of Christmas cheer to all the postal workers!

Big thanks to Kim and Dawn for their inspiring designs.

Thanks for stopping by.

Crazy Crafter's December Blog Hop - Designer Series Paper

Sunday, December 07, 2014

Welcome to the December Crazy Crafters' Blog Hop showcasing Designer Series Paper.  My card this month was also used in a card kit giveaway via my Facebook page.  If you haven't "liked" it yet, head on over and click like now.  I can help you keep up to date with the lastest from Stampin' Up! and you can see my new cards as and when I blog them.

Easy, quick and snazzy!  Don't you just love cards like that?
The layered cardstock of Crisp Cantaloupe and Whisper White are adhered to the

The flags are punched from the In color 2013-2015 Background DSP using the Petite Pennants Builder Punch then popped up with stampin dimensionals.  In between the flags I've stuck a pearl and on either end are ribbons tied with Basic Grey ribbon (now retired sadly) and adhered with glue dots

To finish off I stamped the sentiment in Crisp Cantaloupe using a sentiment from the Good Greetings hostess set and layered matching DSP onto the envelope.

I also made the same card with a more elegant or masculine colour set.  (Sorry about the dark photo, my camera didn't want to play ball with my lighting that day.)  This is more similar to Maureen's card which I've cased this week.  Thanks Maureen!

Here I have used:  Basic Black, Smoky Slate, Whisper White cardstocks, the same pearl, Basic Black Taffeta ribbon, and black memento ink

Enjoy "hopping" through the rest of the blog hop.  The girls (and I!) love comments so leave as each a wee note as you go through the blogs.
