A Dominican Cross

Some of my very good friends are friars in the Order of Preachers, commonly known as the Dominicans.  They wear a white habit with a black cappa (cape) so their colours for everything are black and white.

When one of them was ordained a priest recently I wanted to make him a special, Dominican themed card to celebrate such a special occasion.   I have had so many compliments on the design that I have been wanting to share it with you for ages!

The quote I picked is from St Thomas Aquinas and says "Grant that I may know what you
ask of me." I printed it on the computer before cutting the cardstock to the right size and layering
it on the black cardstock and adding all the other bits and pieces that you can see.

I clear embossed the black ink of the cross to make it shine and contrast nicely with the rhinestones.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
