I have a lot of requests for male cards and lately in particular for a card for a grandfather. So I dug out my Timeless Talk stamp set and came up with this:
I love kraft card stock and thought it was just the thing to base my grandfather card on. I stamped my image three times without reinking and then LIGHTLY rubbed on the same colour ink (Baked Brown Sugar) using my sponge dauber and then inked it up again to run around the edges of the stamped piece of card.
I didn't have any brown twine so I used my sponge dauber and ink pad and ran some ink over my white twine to colour it. I like the slightly mottled look it gave.
I used some of my Midnight Muse backing paper (now retired) which is slightly softer than the Night of Navy Ink I used to stamp my sentiment. Again taking my sponge dauber lightly inked with Baked Brown Sugar I rubbed it over the top so that the white wouldn't show up (it was just too much of a harsh contrast with the kraft card stock). I finished it off with a candy dot from my regals set (I really shared the blue love over various colour collections here, didn't I?!)
Shelli Gardner, co-founder of Stampin' Up!, is having a Creative Challenge at the moment and I'm entering this card. Pop on over and check out the other entries for some really great ideas.
Thanks for stopping by!
