Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Meg Loven

Sunday, December 31, 2017

Today the Crazy Crafters are taking part in a blog hop with Meg Loven where we are asked to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) one of her designs.  Here's the card of Meg's I chose:

And here is my take on this design:

I used the Hello Friend stamp set for this card, keeping Meg's layout and use of four different colours with the bottom right the focus of the sentiment.

Hip Hip Hooray it's Another Birthday

Friday, December 29, 2017

Worried about making irregular card sizes?  Don't be!  Envelopes for cards such as this long one today are a synch with the envelope punch board.  It's a must have for any craft room.  Don't be restricted by formality!  Craft according to your imagination.

There's very little stamping in this card, only the two sentiments are stamped.  The rest relies on the stunning designer series paper in the Birthdays Memories suite.  The polka dot background, of course, but also the three little characters and the banner.  The Whisper White layer is sponged with some Soft Sky and Old Olive and that's it!  Easy peasy!

If you haven't got the Envelope Punch Board yet, take a look at this Stampin' Up! video to see how easy and versatile it is.

Life is Better with Friends

Wednesday, December 27, 2017

Where would we be without our friends, eh?  I'm writing to some of mine to let them know that life's better with them in it.

You all know how difficult I find designing cards for guys and so I turned to the ever wonderful, Brian King, for inspiration for this card.  I used his layout and made the card my own by selecting different colours, patterns, and sentiment.  Thanks, Brian, your cards are always amazing!

Christmas

Advent Calendar Tree

Sunday, December 24, 2017

As I open the last box in my Advent Calendar I want to wish you all a very peaceful and merry Christmas followed by a craft-filled Boxing Day!

This is an Advent tree I made last year but haven't ever shared with you.  It's a CASE of a tree designed by the super talented Allison Okamitsu using little 2x2" boxes that are (sadly) now retired.

What's on your craft to-do list in the downtime after Christmas?

Happy crafting,

Ink It! Stamp It! Blog Hop - Occasions/SAB Catalogues

Friday, December 22, 2017

One of the best things about being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is that we get to pre-order from all the catalogues.  So I've already got my hot little hands on some new items in the 2018 Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogues and am excited to be sharing one of my designs using the Lots of Lavendar stamp set.  You can choose this stamp set as your reward for spending $90, or pick from one of the other rewards on offer.  Spend $180 and get two rewards, and so on.  It's the most fun time of year!

I stamped and coloured in the flowers in three different ways before deciding to use the Stampin' Write Markers for a nice bold effect.  But check out the stamp set below, it is a two step stamp if you'd like to go for a block colour look.  I'd definitely use that if I wasn't fussy cutting out the flowers.

The strip of Berry Burst paper behind is from another new product, from the Occasions Catalogue, the Tutti-frutti Designer Series Paper Stack.  Wait till you see that suite.  The little punches are soooo cute!

The happy birthday sentiment is from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set in the Annual Catalogue.

Now go and take a look at some other projects you can make from the soon to be released catalogues made by the rest of the design team by clicking on their links below.

Enjoy Today Says This Little Piggy

Friday, December 08, 2017

Who loves fussy cutting?  This little piggy!  And hopefully you as well...!

The stunning Bundle of Love DSP does all the work in the card, I think.  Such a great background for the happy little pig.  I fussy cut it and coloured in with my aqua painter.  I think I'm getting better at the shading thing, don't you?

And as always, my favourite framelits, the stitched shapes framelits finish off my card with just the right touch.  Have you got your set yet?

Happy crafting,
Fiona
