Ink It! Stamp It! Blog Hop: New Catalogue

Friday, June 23, 2017

This month we are show casing products from the 2017-2018 annual catalogue. I really wanted to help you get the most out of the catalogue itself by pointing to the images that they provide for inspiration.  There are pages and pages of beautifully presented projects to help give you ideas on what you can do with all the lovely current products so it's a really great resource to have to hand.

This card is a CASE (copy and share everything) of the card in the catalogue on p. 222 with the hostess set In The City.  The only way to get this set is to redeem your host reward dollars so it's a great one to work towards getting.

If you haven't got a copy of the catalogue I'd be happy to send you one.  Click here to request your copy.  And if you do have it but would like some help interpreting how to CASE the designs, drop me a line, I'd love to help.

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Jeanette Egemann

Sunday, June 18, 2017

When the Crazy Crafters hop they hop with style! We CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) an international demonstrator's work.  Today we are showcasing the talented Jeanette Egemann.  Here's the card I've chosen to CASE:

I loved the soft grey and pop of colour theme and felt it was just perfect for a sympathy card (I know, that's two in a row for me now! But they are essential to have on hand and I like to be able to choose between "thinking of you" and "praying for you" depending on who I'm giving the card to.)

Here's my card (it was very hard to photograph so I apologise that you can't get the proper impact of the colours):

To get the flowers coloured on the stamped image I inked up the whole imaged with a Smoky Slate stamp pad and then using a baby wipe I removed the flower areas.  I went over them with the Sweet Sugarplum marker and then stamped.

Wedding Thank Yous

Sunday, June 11, 2017

One of the most satisfying parts of being a card maker is getting requests from friends to make cards for them for special occasions.  I designed these thank you cards to match the wedding invitation of dear friends of mine and couldn't be happier to know they are winging their way around the world as I type.

They are never short of gratitude for others so it was a delight to have been able to facilitate that for their wedding.

If you'd ever like to have cards made for a special occasion, drop me a line!  I'd love to make them for you.  Now I'm off to do 100 thank you cards for a friend's ordination to the preisthood.

Happy crafting,
Fiona

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Holly Stene

Sunday, June 04, 2017

I love blog hopping with my team.  Today we are CASEing (Copy and Selectively Edit) Artisan Design Team member Holly Stene and you are just going to love everyone's cards because her designs are gorgeous.

Here's the card of hers that I chose to CASE:

I was so taken by the water colour wash effect offer the white hearts.  It's gorgeous isn't it?  Here's my card:

I have been struggling for a while to think of some good sympathy card designs and I think this one works perfectly for that.

Envelope Punch Board Gift Card Box

Saturday, May 27, 2017

I love giving my cards as gifts and when they are note cards it's perfect when they have a gift box to accompany them.  I created this gift box to hold five of the cards I made in my last blog post.  It matches the design without replicating it giving some surprise to what's inside.

 Here's the video tutorial:

As promised here are all the dimensions so that you can make it along with me:
Box:
Whisper White cardstock: 23cm x 23cm
Score on Envelope Punchboard at 10.7cm and 15cm (then follow the scorelines around)

Top:
Crumbcake layer: 12.7cm x 9cm
Whisper White layer: 12.2 x 8.5cm
